Ms. Bridgette Williams stated the meeting for the neighborhood watch on March 16, 2015 will be re-scheduled for a later date.
Mr. Tim Pinson stated he had spoken with A Plus Roofing in reference to the replacement of only what needed to be replaced and they agreed. He also asked about the color of the shingles and A Plus told him that would not be a problem.
Mr. Tim Pinson wanted council to know that the auction for the Glass Contractors building was Thursday 03/19/15. All the equipment inside the building was sold but the building itself did not sell. Ameris Bank currently has the loan on the building and that $154,000.00 is owed on it. There was one party interested in buying the building but not from the party that was doing the auction. Mr. Pinson then spoke with the owner and agreed to pay $154,000.00 for the building. Mr. Pinson went on to say that the Fire Department would be out of a place shortly and he wanted to make sure they would have a place. He said the county had agreed to pay $50,000.00 toward helping the Fire Department obtain a place. He requested the city look at the building to see if it could be used for the Library/Community Center before ground breaking takes place at the other location.
